Thank you for reaching out and expressing interest in volunteering with Habitat for Humanity ReStore! We're always excited to welcome new volunteers who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community.
Volunteering with Habitat means becoming part of the change—helping us build a stronger, more supportive place to call home here in Dubuque and Jackson Counties. Whether you're interested in working on home build and repair sites or supporting our mission through the ReStore, there are opportunities for all skill levels and time commitments.
At the ReStore, volunteer roles include:
-
Unloading and receiving donations – Help with trucks and sorting items
-
Organizing materials – Keep tools, hardware, and supplies in order
-
Building displays – Create appealing showcases for donated goods
-
Customer service – Greet shoppers, assist with loading, answer questions
-
Basic maintenance – Help keep the store clean and welcoming
Our next step is to schedule a brief orientation to introduce you to the team and walk through current opportunities. Please reply with your availability, and we’ll get things rolling!
Helpful info before you volunteer:
-
Bring a water bottle and gloves
-
Dress for the weather—some tasks may be outdoors
-
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old
-
Volunteers aged 16–17 must have a parent/guardian complete a youth waiver
All volunteers must complete a waiver once per year. You can fill out the general waiver online HERE. For youth waiver instructions or other questions, feel free to email the ReStore team.
We’re so grateful for your interest and can’t wait to welcome you to the Habitat family!
